The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our
staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.
M. Bernona Stevens, DDS
Dr. Stevens is a native
of Sturgis, Michigan. She graduated from Albion College in 1977. She
followed her father's career into dentistry, graduating from the University
of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1981, with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery
degree. She moved to Grand Rapids with her husband, Todd, where he started
his career in Internal Medicine. She started her own practice in 1982 on
Leonard St. NW. In 1992, she moved her practice to the current location on
Nixon NW, in Walker. She has two sons, Marshall and Kevin. Marshall is an
Equine Veternarian currently practicing in northwest Chicago. Kevin has
joined the practice in 2013, making him a third generation dentist. When you
visit this dental office, unlike others, you actually spend time with the
dentist. Following the tradition of Dr Stevens' father, she and Dr. Kevin
still "clean" your teeth. This allows them to personalize your treatment and
get to know you as a person.
She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan
Dental Association ,and the West Michigan Dental Society.
Her outside interests are equestrian sports and gardening. If she is not at
the office she is either mowing or riding.
Kevin Stevens, DDS
Dr. Kevin Stevens has spent his whole life around the office. Spending time
at the office helped him decide that he wanted to become a third generation
dentist. Growing up in Cascade, he competed his horses nationally in the
sport of show jumping. After graduating from Forest Hills Central he pursued
a Bachelors of Science from the University of Michigan in Biology. While at
U of M he was involved with the Michigan Equestrian Team and served as their
president. Dr. Kevin continued his education at the University of Michigan
School of Dentistry where he graduated in May of 2013 with his Doctor of
Dental Surgery degree. He was selected as a member of the OKU Dental Honors
Fraternity. Since joining the practice in June of 2013, he has been excited
to see the renovations and transformation of the practice and has been
privileged to meet many of the existing and new patients. Dr. Kevin and his
wife, Rebecca, enjoy spending time with their horses and playing the sport
of Polo.
He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan
Dental Association , and the West Michigan Dental Society.
Chris - Dental Assistant/Receptionist
Chris has been a part of our team since 2010. She is one of our dental
assistants. She joined our office at the same time we went paperless. She
was the team leader for this transition and continues to be our "go to"
person for our IT issues. She has a daughter that is currently a student at
Grand Valley State University.
Janet - Dental Assistant/Receptionist
Janet began at our office as a receptionist in 2013 and has transitioned to
a dental assistant.
She has three sons that are very active, and likes to
enjoy the outdoors.
Erin - Receptionist/Dental Assistant
Erin joined our team in 2013. She is our main receptionist and our go to
person for insurance questions. She is married with 2 small daughters who
keep her very busy.
Ellie – Dental Assistant/ Receptionist
Ellie joined our team in 2019. She is newly married and in her free time
she likes to bake and sew.
